I am Rob Moller, CEO and Wood Master Weapons Maker (WMWM©)of Ronin Custom Kobudo. I am proud to be a guild artisan, crafting kobudo weapons in the 'old way' style of my many teachers and ancient weapons makers. I still use weapons I made in 1974 when I rose to Yudansha rank. I studied many different styles then and during the time I spent overseas as a combat veteran, serving my country and continue to be a student of the martial arts. So I understand the idiosyncracies of many styles and how they study kobudo.
I have some of the best design information given to me by people that trust me. These are the weapons I make. I will make your style, design and custom fit your weapon to you. At times I have people ask me to specifically copy other weapons makers' designs. Please don't. I have met almost every other custom weapons maker in the U.S. and DO NOT want to steal their specialty designs and business. Again, I will make your style, design and custom fit your weapon to you. Before you call, talk with the head of your dojo or have them call or e-mail me, so we all understand what your system requirments are. This will make the ordering process easy.
I am beginning the process of teaching weapons making to preserve Ryukyu arts and other systems' weapons designs as an archive. I will be teaching others this art to pass this authentic information along. If you have archive photos or technical data on kobudo weapons, please let us know, if you so choose. Many of my teachers have passed alot of information to me and We wish to share this data where we can.
I have field tested many woods through various dojo and have chosen the best available for heavy use and durability. My wood of choice is IPE. It is a South American hardwood with a psi of 3680 (compare that to oak which has a psi of 1300). We guarantee our Ipe weapons. Other more exotic woods will soon be available.
I have had many inquiries about different exotic hardwoods as seen on my website. No discounts apply to exotic woods as we don't receive discounts on small lumber orders.
We do offer some of the best prices on custom weapons in the U.S. and the quality surpasses many companies in the U.S. and overseas. Please compare quality, prices and our guarantee. If you see a better price on a non-sale, custom, quality hardwood (psi), handmade- not mass produced weapon in the US, please call us and we will try to better the price. If their price is ludicrously below our price, please purchase the item from them. We cannot match Century prices but can come close on some items. We have calculated the bottom line cost of a weapon for us.....and that is the price you get. Our wholesale prices are for weapons of 10 or more. If you have a multiple order (depending on the items) we will adjust the shipping price.
Our weapons are hand rubbed to a luster with 100%natural organic oils for shipping around the world. Please allow 3-6 weeks for custom weapons. It is worth the wait.
